This stunning home in Bowdon has been one of my favourites to work on over the past few years. The brief for this room was calming but traditional.
This intricately woven jacquard fabric was the starting point to the room and works perfectly to frame the stunning windows of the property. My amazing team of joiners and curtain makers made each pelmet to fit perfectly and added hand made, floor length, bespoke interlined curtains, to show off the height of the ceilings. We piped the pelmet with a strong red braid to outline and accentuate the shapes of the bay windows.
I then pulled out the blue of the fabric to add panelling to the room, kept the ceiling a light colour and used red accessories in the room to complement the pattern in the curtains.
I decked to go with light beige sofas in a traditional style with scatter-back cushions to keep the room light, and added a buttoned pouffee to be used as extra seating or a coffee table. We then finished the room by adding stunning artwork and a soft rug underfoot placed on the existing original wooden floorboards.
This room was a huge success and is very sympathetic to the age and style of the property, and hit the brief perfectly.
